Motorola Moto 360 (2nd Gen.) officially announced – everything you need to know

After numerous rumors and leaks over the past few months, Motorola has finally unveiled the second-generation Moto 360! The new Moto 360 collection comes in both men’s and women’s models, and there’s also a sport variant that will become available at a later date.

The regular (non-sport) model comes in both 46mm and 42mm options for men, and the women’s line comes in at 42mm. All variants feature a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of on-board storage. The 46mm option comes with a 400mAh battery and a 1.56-inch LCD display with 360 x 330 resolution, while both 42mm variants come with a 1.37-inch LCD display with 360 x 325 resolution. Both sizes are covered in Gorilla Glass 3.

As you can see from the images above, there are a few different design elements this time around. For starters, Mo

torola has added traditional lugs to the watch, which will let you change out your watch band much easier. The power button has also been moved to the 2 o’clock position, as opposed to the 3 o’clock position on last year’s model.

As for the Moto 360 Sport, it features a GPS, a silicon band, and an AnyLight display that will allow for easier reading in both light and dark situations.

You’ll be able to customize the Moto 360 via Moto Maker, with the ability to choose from different bands, casing colors, and sizes. There are quite a few different color options to choose from, including Black, Gold, Silver and Rose Gold (women’s variant only), and you can also choose from leather, stainless steel and Rose Gold (women’s only) straps, as well.

The non-sport variants of the watch are available for pre-order starting today from the Google Store, Motorola.com and Best Buy. Prices range from about $299 to $429, depending on which style and watch band you select. The new watches will also be available in-store in late September at Nordstrom, Best Buy and Verizon as well. Motorola says it will share Moto 360 Sport availability with us sometime soon.
